About this print
The Lake District is one of Britain’s most celebrated upland landscapes, defined by high fells, deep valleys and long, winding lakes shaped by glacial terrain. In Cumbria, it has long been associated with rail travel via key gateways including Carlisle, Penrith and Oxenholme, offering access to a region known for walking, mountain scenery and wide, dramatic views across open country.
This artwork captures that grandeur from an elevated vantage point, looking across a sweeping ridge of green and ochre slopes toward distant water and layered hills. Rocky foreground detail, drifting cloud and a narrow valley stream create a strong sense of scale, while the small figures on the skyline emphasise the immensity of the landscape. The image has a bold, expansive composition that suits the Lake District’s reputation for rugged beauty and high scenic drama.

Choose Your Finish
For a contemporary look, choose our Modern finish, produced on 230gsm smooth matte paper for crisp detail and refined colour.
For a classic look, choose our Vintage finish, carefully aged and printed on a traditionally made 310gsm matte etching paper from German paper experts Hahnemühle. Its subtle texture enhances depth and lends the artwork the presence of an original railway poster.
Both are available in six frame options.
